Kacper Bożek was born in 1974 in Kraków, Poland. He graduated in his hometown from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts.
In his work Bożek devotes considerable attention to printmaking (the term refers to a print pulled on paper from a printing matrix—e.g., a carved woodblock).
Over the course of three years the artist produced a dozen illustrations for The Master and Margarita (this was, in fact, his diploma project at the Kraków Academy). You can acquaint yourself with his rather original vision of the novel below.

“Looking for the turnstile, citizen?”

“He’s here!”—Ivanushka at Griboedov’s (the moon in the sky screams in horror).

Woland’s Gang at Stepa’s Apartment. Please pay special attention to Behemoth—I’m sure no one has ever drawn him like this.
