Leonid Kovtun was born in 1953 in the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia. He studied at the Grekov Odessa Art School. Today the artist lives, teaches, and works in his native city. The main direction of his work is icon painting, both canonical and non‑traditional, authorial.
