Charlie Stone is primarily a stone-carving artist—his sundials and, say, fountain statues stand in many New Zealand parks. Still, as a hobby he occasionally illustrates books. Here is a series of fifteen illustrations for Bulgakov's book (these works were first published in high quality on Alexander aka Unmodern Person's website, for which he deserves a big thank you from everyone who cares)
Berlioz, Woland, and Bezdomny

Pilate, Mark Ratslyer, and Yeshua Ha-Nozri from the town of Gamala

The cat on the streetcar

Ivan Bezdomny is restrained and taken to Stravinsky’s clinic

Woland’s gang—apparently in Stepa Likhodeev’s apartment

Varenukha’s abduction

A séance of black magic at the Variety Theater

The Master and Ivan Bezdomny

The execution

Woland receives visitors the day after the magic show

Margarita and Azazello—yes, Margarita has plainly lost her looks without the Master

Margarita on a broomstick and Natasha on a boar

Pilate, Banga, and—apparently—Afranius

Behemoth on the chandelier (as we recall, Behemoth was holding a Browning; the artist obligingly depicted one—a Browning M1918 rifle)

The last flight
