Anatoly Aleksandrovich Alekseev was born in Moscow in 1944. In 1972 he graduated from the Moscow Higher School of Art and Industry (the former Stroganov School). After graduating he worked as a designer for the Art Fund of the RSFSR and for the Combine of Decorative and Exhibition Art, doing interior and exhibition design. He now lives in the Spirovo District (Tver Oblast), in a house where he has set up his studio.

Alekseev created several dozen canvases for The Master and Margarita. Unfortunately, far fewer are available on the internet—but here are the ones we have.
