Evgeniy Shtyrov was born in Petropavlovsk in 1960, but at the age of four his family moved to Kuybyshev (now Samara). He studied in Ukraine, graduating from the Kharkiv Institute of Art and Industry. In 2000 he joined the Artists’ Union of Russia.
