The great folks at Google launched a special multimedia project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bulgakov's most famous novel. It was called Master and Margarita. I Was There. The project featured a reading of the novel by professional actors (and also by anyone who successfully passed an online audition). All of this was broadcast live in a clever 360-degree format with various effects that, according to the creators, provided an engaging, immersive experience.

The performance itself took place on November 11 and 12, 2016.

Before the performance, visitors to the project's website could chat with Koroviev and Behemoth. Based on the conversation, the two characters would determine the most suitable location from the novel for the visitor and send them there (strangely, Yalta was not an option). Here are those locations that we will now look at.

  • Patriarch's Ponds

“Annushka has already bought sunflower oil, and not only bought it, but spilled it as well. So the meeting will not take place.”
