Viktor Pavlushin completed art school in the settlement of Krasnoobsk. He then tried to enroll in the Surikov Art College in Krasnoyarsk but missed one entrance exam and, because of stiff competition, was not admitted. Luck was on his side, however: he found work in a factory art department, where seasoned staff artists taught him the fundamentals of display design—skills that set the course for his later career as a graphic designer.
Here are five of his mixed‑media illustrations for The Master and Margarita.
