Victor Vasilievich Prokofiev was born in Baku in 1934. In 1962, he graduated from the Samokish Crimean Art College. And in 1968, he graduated from the art faculty of VGIK (the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography). In the seventies, Victor Vasilievich worked as a production designer at Mosfilm (by the way, he was an assistant production designer on Tarkovsky's Solaris). And in the year of Mikhail Bulgakov's centenary (if anyone has forgotten, we are talking about 1991), Viktor Vasilievich received a VDNKh gold medal for a series of works for The Master and Margarita.
